Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is the use of assessment and treatment to develop, recover, or maintain the daily living and work skills of people with a physical, mental, or cognitive disorder.

For students, occupational therapy ensures that they will be able to participate in day-to-day school life, such as holding a pencil or book paying attention in class or to the task at hand.

While occupational therapist primarily work to help students work better in the classroom, some school-based occupational therapists can provide consultation to teacher about how classroom presentation affects learning, why some children will behave inappropriately, or what the best way to teach a student is.
